The short version. ComfortCard has no account and no sign-in. What you keep in the family file lives in your own browser, on your own device, and we never see it. We do not sell anything about you. We do not advertise to you. We are not your doctor, and nothing here is medical, legal, or tax advice. You can delete what you keep, on your device, at any time.
1. What ComfortCard is
ComfortCard is a tool for a family caregiver to keep care information — receipts, letters, cards, care wishes, a caregiver plan, hours of care given, and results carried in from sibling sites — in one file the family can find when it matters.
ComfortCard is not a medical provider, not a health plan, and not an emergency service. It does not diagnose, treat, or make clinical decisions. If you have a medical emergency, call 911. In a crisis, call or text 988. Nothing on this site is medical, legal, or tax advice.
2. What we collect
What stays on your device
Everything in the family file at /family is stored by your browser on your device (IndexedDB). It is not uploaded. There is no server copy, no account, and no password. If you clear the browser’s data, it is gone; the export (a FHIR R4 Bundle) is the backup.
Self-checks such as the readiness check and the covered check run in your browser. Answers are not stored or sent unless a page says so at the moment you choose it.
What leaves your device, only when you choose it
The written read on /covered. If you ask for it by email, the address and the answers you gave are sent to our email service (Resend) to deliver that one message.
The caregiver plan. If you answer the seven navigator questions on /family, those answers go to clinicalswipe.com, which returns a plan and, as it states, stores nothing.
Carrying a result to a sibling site. A link you tap on /family carries numbers and fixed labels (never a name, never a note) in the link itself, to the site named on the link. Nothing goes to us.
Reserving a place, or writing to us. An email address you type into a reserve or contact box is sent to our operator so a person can write back. Nothing else is collected with it.
Collected automatically
Standard hosting logs (Google Firebase Hosting and Cloud Run), including IP address, kept by the host for security. We run no analytics script and no advertising tracker on this site.
3. AI, stated plainly
The on-device reader at /copilot-lab runs a small model inside your browser. The text you paste there is not sent anywhere.
No page on this site sends your family file to an AI service. The optional navigator request goes to clinicalswipe.com, as described above.
Any generated text can be wrong. Review it yourself and, where it matters, with a clinician.
4. What we never do
We do not sell personal information. Not to advertisers, data brokers, insurers, employers, or model trainers.
We do not show ads, and we do not accept payment to influence what you see.
We do not hold your family file, so we cannot share it, mine it, or lose it.
5. Who we share with
People you choose. If you print, export, or carry a link to someone, they see what you chose to give them.
Service providers named above (hosting, email delivery, the clinicalswipe.com navigator), each limited to that one purpose.
When legally required — a valid subpoena or court order, for the little we hold (an email address you gave us).
6. A note about HIPAA
Information you keep yourself in a consumer tool is generally not protected health information under HIPAA, because we are not your healthcare provider or its business associate. We do not claim HIPAA compliance and have no business associate agreement. We tell you this because the difference is real and you deserve to know it.
7. Your choices
See it — open /family; that is all of it.
Export it — the FHIR R4 Bundle on /family.
Delete it — the wipe button on /family, or clear the browser’s data for comfortcard.org.
The email you gave us — ask and we remove it.
Colorado residents have rights under the Colorado Privacy Act. Residents of other states may have comparable rights. Ask and we will honor them regardless of where you live.
8. Security, honestly stated
The site is served over HTTPS with a content security policy. Your family file’s security is your device’s security: a device passcode and a current browser protect it; we cannot. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If something we hold (an email address) is exposed, we will tell you.
9. Retention
Your family file stays on your device until you delete it. An email address you gave us is kept until you ask us to remove it or we close the list.
10. Children
ComfortCard is for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. A parent or guardian may of course record information about a person they care for.
11. Terms of use
Use ComfortCard lawfully, and only for information you have a right to record.
You keep ownership of what you enter. We never receive it.
The service is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or anything that cannot be limited by law.
These terms are governed by Colorado law.
12. Paid features
There are none. Nothing on this site is for sale, and no page takes a payment. If that changes, the price and the terms will be shown before anyone pays.
13. Changes
If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the date above. Continuing to use ComfortCard after a change means you accept it.
14. Contact
Questions, requests, or complaints about privacy: the reserve box on /join reaches a person, who answers.
