Most membership pages list only the good part. This one lists what’s live today, what we can’t offer yet and why, and exactly how we get paid — because how we get paid is the reason we can tell you no.
All of this works the day you join — and the first three cost nothing whether you join or not.
Six daily activities, the ninety-day question, and the dependency question that decides most cases. Two minutes, no account.
A person reads your answers. If you don’t meet the standard we say so in writing, with the reason, before you are charged anything.
Emergency card an ER can scan, the documents vault, the benefits finder, and Five Wishes directive drafting.
Only if the review passes. A real encounter with the certifying practitioner — a physician, registered nurse or licensed social worker — a plan of care, and a dated certification valid twelve months. Members pay a reduced rate.
A patron-member share in co-op.care. One member, one vote — the same vote a caregiver-owner holds, no matter what anyone pays.
The heart of the cooperative is companion care at home delivered by caregivers who own the company. We are not offering it yet, and here is the honest reason.
Providing personal care in Colorado — bathing, dressing, meals, supervision — requires a Class B Home Care Agency license from the state health department. Our application is in progress. Until it is issued we will not sell, schedule or staff a single hour of personal care, and we won’t take deposits against it either.
When the license is issued, care opens in Boulder County first and expands by member density. Members are told first. If you join now, you are joining the cooperative and everything above — not a waiting list for care we can’t legally deliver today.
When a company profits from what you buy, its assessment of whether you qualify is not an assessment. So here is our whole revenue model, in four lines.
That structure is the whole reason we can afford to tell you no.
Membership gets you access and member pricing. It does not make anything HSA- or FSA-eligible, and joining does not improve the odds of a certification. Whether care qualifies is a separate clinical determination against a published standard — chronic illness, a plan of care, an actual encounter — and it comes out the same for a member and a non-member. Anyone who sells you a membership as a way to unlock a tax benefit is selling you the wrong thing.
The card is free forever. Membership is $59 a month and makes you an owner. Cancel anytime; your record leaves with you.
